Hey lovely people! Welcome back…I hope you all had a great weekend. So I am always on the hunt for you guys trying to find unique ideas and I stumbled upon a really cute idea for a gift to your bridesmaids or something great to use during your bachelorette party. Divatures is a lifestyle products company located in the Atlanta, Georgia area specializing in custom gifts and apparel. The lovely hand painted glassware is what really caught my attention. Take a look below at the Q & A and some of their products.
Tell me more about your business and how you got started?
I have absolutely no training as an artist, I’m not even a “doodler”. But for some reason I was determined. That was about 2 1/2 years ago and I still have some of my first efforts (they were awful!!). Not to mention that glass is one of the most difficult surfaces to paint on and that it’s a labor: painting, baking, glazing. But I love it!!! Unfortunately we failed to meet my son’s fundraising objective, but out of this effort my business was born.
How do you come up with your designs?
The designs are mostly just ideas that I have, however clients have come up with some ideas that have pushed my creativity and shown me a lot about my talent. I’m still amazed when people say, “You’re such a talented artist.”
Do you ship?
Shipping, but of course. Continental United States, via USPS 2-day priority. All glasses arrive gift-packaged…cards or notes can be included. Orders take 10-12 business days to complete. Personalization up to 10 letters is always included.
What inspires you?
I’m inspired by pretty things…they make me happy. I know that sounds really simple, but no matter what kind of day I’ve had, looking at one of my finished products or getting great customer feedback makes this the absolute best thing I could do. I love what I’m doing!!!
What type of orders do you get?
Bridal, birthday, mother’s day, organizations, etc. The picture below is of a set I did of some bridesmaids for a wedding in the Dominican Republic.
What’s next for Divatures?
Well right now I’m a one-woman show…I’m bringing in someone to help to expedite service. I’m also adding new products: bags, hair accessories and hand-painted shirts. I will debut these products at the World Natural Hair Show in Atlanta the last weekend if April. I’m always looking for vendor opportunities, especially as I’m breaking into the bridal and social organization markets. Ideally, I would like to put these into production, but I have a little more work to do.
What gifts are you giving your bridesmaids?
